You might see this when you try to bring up the interface

# ifup eth0

A common reason for this error is, the server had been cloned from another server and there is reminent configuration for the old interfaces.

Have a look in /etc/udev/rules.d in a file called 70-persistent-net.rules modify the MAC address for your new interface, also change the MAC address in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethX
