How do I perform a quick backup all VCS configuration?

  • This command is really used for sending in the configuration to Symantec support, but you can also use it if you are doing changes to you configuration and want to be sure you have a good backup of the configuration files.

    # hagetcf
    Saving 4.77 MB.
Enter path where configuration can be saved (default is /tmp ):
    /export/home/unixbod

    Collecting /var/adm/messages*
    Collecting /var/log/syslog*

    Compressing /export/home/unixbod/vcsconf.unixbod1.tar to
    /export/home/unixbod/vcsconf.unixbod1.tar.gz

    Done. Please e-mail /export/home/unixbod/vcsconf.unixbod1.tar.gz to
    your support provider.
