How do I prevent users logging onto the system in solaris?

To prevent users logging into the Solaris, make sure you have a system console connection open and will be able to access it directly, for instance via a serial console

# touch /etc/nologin

When you have finished maintenance tasks, a reboot will remove /etc/nologin, or if you do not need to reboot just remove the /etc/nologin file
