How do I create a soft partition in solaris volume manager?

To create a soft partition from a meta device mirror, do the following.

#  metainit d78 -p d50 500m
d78: Soft Partition is setup

Where d78 is the new soft partition meta device
d50 is the existing mirror meta device

The size is 500 Megabytes. You can also use a disk device name slice eg: c1t0d0s2, instead of using a mirror meta device.
