bash: history - Skip backward & forward through bash history commands.

    Skip backward through shell history.

    Press Ctrl then p keep pressing p until you find the command you require.

    Skip forward through shell history.

    Press Ctrl then n keep pressing n This can be used when you have gone backwards in the shell history. The Ctrl-p and Ctrl-n work in conjunction with each other.
