    Simplex
Sending communications in one directions, e.g. FM radio and TV. The signal is transmitted and the receiver just listens or watches.

    Half-duplex (HDX)
Quote from wikipedia link: A half-duplex (HDX) system provides communication in both directions, but only one direction at a time (not simultaneously). An example of this is the Walkie Talkie.

    Full-duplex (FDX)
Quote from wikipedia links: A full-duplex (FDX) system, or sometimes called double-duplex, allows communication in both directions, and, unlike half-duplex, allows this to happen simultaneously. e.g. Phones and Ethernet.
