What is a kubernetes non-master node?
-
The non-master node(s), the a.k.a, the worker node(s). Reference the diagram from the official kubernetes documentation.
They run two processes:
- kubelet - which communicates with the Kubernetes Master.
- kube-proxy - a network proxy which reflects Kubernetes networking services on each node.
The Kubelet is the node agent, the node agent received the PodSpec in JSON or YAML. The Kubelet ensures that containers defined in the spec are running and are in a healthy state.
Also see: https://kubernetes.io/docs/reference/command-line-tools-reference/kubelet/The kube-proxy provides network services on the node.
