Always use visudo to edit the /etc/sudoers file. It does syntax checks.

This error is syntax as the message says, so can be a number of things, lines that should be contiguous, sometimes go over two lines via a copy & page for example,
Use :set list to check in visudo

The issues could be extra characters where not expected.
