What tools are available for system management on hpux?


  • On hp-ux 11.23, there are some tools which help with configuration of various functions within the system. A web-based interface called Servicecontrol Manager (SCM). Using the certain options will invoke a web-based SCM command.

    The kernel configuration is done using kcweb
    The hardware configuration is done using pdweb
    The partition management is done using parmgr

    The SCM can manage more than one hp-ux or HP linux system, it is based on the Web Based Enterprise Management protocol.

    There are a group utilities that help with configuration of multiple systems, possible in a ServiceGuard Cluster. They are called Distributed Systems Administration Utilities (DSAU).

    SAM is still on hpux systems, to configure a wide variety of system based tasks.
