AWS EFS - Elastic File System. Provides automated flexible size storage with AWS EC2 and it supports the NFS protocol.

• Has a web interface to create and config file systems.
• Patching, Deploying and maintaining configurations are all managed.
• Supports for NFS, NFSv4.1 and NFSv4.0
• Highly available, scalable and durable.
• File systems can grow to a petabyte.
• Support encryption data in transition and at rest.
• POSIX file permissions.
• Provides data consistency and file locking.
• Two performance modes and two throughput modes.

Using Amazon EFS with Microsoft Windows–based Amazon EC2 instances is not supported.
