AWS EFS - Elastic File System. Provides automated flexible size storage with AWS EC2 and it supports the NFS protocol.
- Grow and Shrinks automatically.
- Has a web interface to create and config file systems.
- Patching, Deploying and maintaining configurations are all managed.
- Supports for NFS, NFSv4.1 and NFSv4.0
- Highly available, scalable and durable.
- File systems can grow to a petabyte.
- Support encryption data in transition and at rest.
- POSIX file permissions.
- Provides data consistency and file locking.
- Two performance modes and two throughput modes.
Using Amazon EFS with Microsoft Windows–based Amazon EC2 instances is not supported.
