What do egress & ingress mean?

Other than the network experts, This is one that sometimes confuses beginners. It is used in the context of network traffic and which direction it flows.
I guess it is pretty simple to remember, if you remember Ingress is incoming traffic and the other Egress is outgoing traffic
They are used interchangeably with two other terms, outbound (Egress) & inbound (Ingress)

- Out-Of-Band refers dedicated network management port, you connect to it and can manage the device over the network, these ports normally have their own subnets, for instance iLOM, Integrated Lights Out Management. This is for physical devices.
- In-Band is referred to when connect via the default network interface
