How do i install the go programming language on linux?

  • AWS EKS uses the go tool for installing software for example aws-iam-authenticator.

    Download the tar achive from the go downloads page: https://golang.org/dl/

    Extract the archive under /usr/local, This installs the latest version from the downloads page.

    $ sudo tar -C /usr/local -xzf go1.10.3.linux-amd64.tar.gz

    Verify you can run the go command.

    $ go
