How do I load a redhat kernel module?

To load a kernel module, you need to know the name of it. Kernel modules on redhat are kept in
/lib/modules/{kernel_version}/kernel/
For example to load the sierra kernel module.
Check it does not exist before. loading.
$ lsmod | grep sierra
Load the module. modprobe calls the insmod command. Use
-v
for verbose.$ sudo modprobe sierra
Check again.
$ lsmod | grep sierra sierra 24576 0
